“Bassist, composer, arranger and educator. Before graduating in jazz music, he had followed an individual training path made of seminars with renowned bass-players and masterclasses conducted by remarkable international jazz musicians.

Mauro started playing classical piano as a child and only later on he switched to electric bass to play rock and fusion. Finally, he embraced double bass to devote himself to jazz. Since the end of the 90s, he has been developing collaborations with several master jazz players.

His experience includes participations in festivals and international reviews of events (UK, Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, Croatia, Sweden, Slovenia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania,Kazakhstan, Armenia), as well as numerous recordings for jazz labels (e.g. Alfamusic, Wow Records, Emme Records, Irma, Dodicilune).

He founded his quintet in 2018, when he released the first album “Lunea”. The second album “Follow The Flow” is released in 2021. 2023 marked the release of his first trio album as leader: “Limbo” (Emme Records). In 2025 the third quintet album, “TEMPO” (Barly Records), is published as an additional step within an original path that is still in full evolution.
